TOPIC: “Hidden Threats: Protecting Your Business from Cybersecurity Breaches & Modern Fraud Schemes” 

This presentation offers an inside look at the most common and emerging cyber threats, fraud schemes, and digital vulnerabilities impacting today’s businesses. Using real-world cases and operational insights from the City of Waco Police Department, attendees will gain practical, actionable strategies to strengthen cybersecurity, protect financial assets, and reduce organizational risk. The session will also spotlight warning signs, prevention techniques, and resources businesses can leverage to better safeguard their operations and workforce. 

About the Speaker:

Sgt. Matthew McCallister serves as a supervisory officer within the Waco Police Department’s Investigations Command, specializing in financial crimes, fraud prevention, and organizational resilience. With extensive experience overseeing complex investigations involving cyber-enabled offenses, Sgt. McCallister regularly collaborates with businesses, community groups, and partner agencies to strengthen public safety through education and outreach. He has helped develop departmental training initiatives on digital security, ethical leadership, and vulnerability awareness, and is committed to equipping the Waco business community with practical, actionable tools to guard against emerging cyber and fraud threats.
